  I was at the Black Bear Pub & Grill tonight eating an order of their fish and chips again. I wasn't expecting them to taste as good as when I ate them there two nights ago but honestly, they were! I love fish and chips but they must be good for me to eat them. I travel from Durham Region to Toronto, Mississauga and elsewhere looking for great fish and chips. One would think places that specialize in them like Halibut-Times, Captain Johns and etc., would make them the best. However, I have tasted each of these places plus others that specialize in fish and chips and refuse to eat at any of them again. Hands down, the Black Bear Pub & Grill's fish and chips are the best in Durham Region and in fact, Toronto and the other places I've been at too! This is not because their potion is gigantic, this is not because their price is amazing but simply because their fish and chips are just simply darn good! If this forthright review I've made has not convinced you yet to run to the Black Bear Pub & Grill for the best fish and chips in Durham, then I'm sure the picture of their fish and chips below certainly will!

  Clean, friendly with a great menu! I'd give it five stars but they, like many other pubs, don't have adequate wait staff for the crowd size. If you aren't in a hurry it's ok.
